Reverse Chronological Order

Exciting new position

What new position, you might ask. I’ve been working at Champlain College for a long time. CC is a (relatively) small 4-year private college located in Burlington, VT. In 1999, I was hired as an adjunct professor for the (at that time) new Web Development and Management Program. Within a year or so, I was hired full-time and that lasted for a couple of years. For a number of reasons, I lost that full-time position and went back to part-time teaching duties. A few months ago I got fed up and started lobbying for a full-time position. I officially (re)started on 7/02/07 and am just about to move into an office. I sold this position to the college president as filling a need to upgrade our technology “walk” and am committed to blogging as part of that walk. We’ll see how far I get, won’t we?

Beginnings are the most delicate of times

You may recognize the title of this post as a paraphrase from one of the chapter epigrams from Dune (Frank Herbert). I’d look up the actual quote but 1) I’m too lazy and 2)there doesn’t seem to be a full-text version on the web (see #1). I promised myself that when I got this new position, I’d start to blog. We’ll see how far I take this.
